Shahbaz says Punjab losses are worth Rs82b

LAHORE:- Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said world was all right to have reservations over the distribution of aid money among the flood-affected people, when criminals of the nation are offered relief under the Presidential order, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference here at Chief Minister House, he said it was not possible to give Rs20,000 to the flood-ravaged people before the Eidul Fitr; accordingly, the work has been kick-started from three district Mianwali, Bhukkar and Layyah, where each family would be given Rs20,000 as per record of Nadra.
Mian Shahbaz Sharif said the flood affected at least 6.5 million people and destroyed properties worth of Rs82 billion in Punjab, pleading the federal government to provide aid garnered from within the country and without for the recompense.
The Punjab CM said a formula for the distribution of aid money among the province should be hammered on the basis of proportions of devastations and a foreign organization should be solicited to supervise this distribution process.
